Many high-end original fragrances — although beautiful — have low fixation: they evaporate quickly and barely last 2-3 hours. Layering solves this in two ways:

• Base layers: First apply a fragrance with a higher concentration of musks or woods (like an inspiration with good fixation) that acts as an "anchor" for the scent.
• Top layers: Over that base, apply your favorite original so its essence is enhanced and lasts much longer.

• Less is more: 2 fragrances is enough to start.
